FESTIVAL AND FAIRS OF INDIA-5







In the next post we will see the festivals celebrated in India in the months between September to October.

Dussehra:

This great festival is celebrated for 10 days in every chunk of the country. This festival is celebrated as Durga Pooja on the tenth day in Calcutta. Gigantic pandals housing statues of Goddess Durga of in different sizes are constructed and the open pray at these places followed by huge march pasts to take the idols for immersion in sea. This day is celebrated as Ram Lila in Delhi, Varanasi, and many other centres. Huge statues of evil spirits like Ravan, Kumbakarn are terrorized by fire. Different parts of the country rejoice this carnival in their own way. 'Garba' is a kind of dance performed by young girls and also observe fast in Gujarat. In Tamilnadu it is celebrated as Navarathri with 'Kolu', an display of dolls in many houses is put down and embellished. This celebration is ended with Ayudha pooja and Vijaya Dasami. This to celebrate the triumph of deity Durga over the evil spirit Mahisha.

Ganesh Chathurthi:

Lord Ganesha is the nearly all well-liked of Hindu Gods. Ganesh Chathurthi is celebrated extensively across the country. Big statues of Lord Ganesh are kept in pooja for five days and taken out in parade for immersion in seas, rivers, or any other water remains . It is a display to look at this demonstration at Mumbai, Pune, and Hyderabad.

Diwali:

The Festivals of Lights. Unquestionably the only most thrilling festivals of India celebrated all over with a put on show of firework. Houses are lit with oil lampa. People wear colorful dresses and swap over sweets. People go on a purchasing extravaganza on the eve of this festival for sweets, clothes, domestic items, and utilities.
